A Card - and - what is my style?

I think I made today's card after a sketch - that will have to explain the unusual layout of the card - for being me! I've realised time and time again, that I have my "style" my way of creating, and I (and many of my fellow scrapbookers) can often notice the little things that signifies someone's scrap style. One thing that reveals me is my love of drawing a thin line around the patterned paper, as to enforce the feeling of a frame. That's one thing. Another thing is my handwriting - it gives me away s well... :)

Workshop with Frank Garcia

In May I had the opportunity to join a class with the talented and lovely Frank Garcia - I'm SO. HAPPY. I could make it to that class - thanks to a dear friend (you are the best, Nina!) who made it possible! The result of one creative evening lead by Mr Garcia is this:

Workshop with Frank Garcia

On Wednesday I'm attending a workshop with Prima Marketing's designer Frank Garcia - a super talented crafter. I hadn't really expected to go to this workshop, so when a sweet friend helped me I seized the opportunity!! Thank you, Nina!

Kurs med Frank Garcia från Prima Marketing!

Onsdag den 14 maj kl. 18:30 kommer jag sitta som ett ljus i skolbänken. Eller, skolbänken är väl att ta i, men jag ska gå en kurs. Inte vilken kurs som helst, utan en sån där "once in a lifetime"-kurs med Frank Garcia som flyger in från USA för att hålla kurs med Prima Marketings produkter. Vi ska få göra en mixed media-LO och det blir ett tillfälle att få vara kreativ, träffa likasinnade och bara insupa massor med inspiration! Åh, vad jag längtar! :D

Måndag den 19 maj kl 18:30 är det ännu en kurs med samme Frank Garcia från Prima, men denna gång är det ett minialbum som ska läras ut. Jag är tyvärr inte anmäld till den kursen, men är helt säker på att den kommer att vara lika rolig och inspirerande som den första kursen. Hade jag haft möjlighet hade jag DEFINITIVT gått på den också. Vet att några av mina vänner i scrapvärlden kommer att gå på båda... ;)

Vi kommer att hålla till på Cervins väg 15 i Spånga, men det är Pyssloteket som står som värd för evenemanget. Du kan också köpa din kursplats via Pysslotekets webbshop, och det finns platser kvar!! Pris per kurs är 695 kr men då ingår också material från Prima Marketing till ett värde av nästan 900 kr!

Nu blev jag så pysselsugen av att skriva detta blogginlägget att jag är tvungen att pyssla lite! *hehe*

Christmas Cards 2013

I don't make and send that many Christmas cards, but the few I make, I really enjoy making. Though, I always start a bit late and I have to rush the cardmaking, same thing this last Christmas... ;-) Here are some of the cards I made for 2013:

I really like how they turned out, and I think that the darker blue card is my favourite in this batch.

How do you think when you make your Christmas cards? Do you start early or in the last minute? Do you LOVE making them or do you consider it a "have-to-do" thing before Christmas?

Well, I'll put that behind me for a while now, and I'll probably start too late this year, too... ;-)

Kurser på Pyssloteket!

Ni har väl inte missat att jag och de andra DT-tjejerna håller kurser på Pyssloteket? Nya kurstillfällen för vårterminen är nu inbokade och bland kurserna finns "Scrapbooking: clean & simple" eller "Scrapbooking: Vintage/shabby chic" med mig.

Bland de andra kurserna finns bland annat "Romantisk färgexplosion" med Ullis aka LillBlomman, "Gör en romantisk canvas" med AnnaB och "Grundkurs - Effektmedier" med Karin - många roliga kurser finns det att välja mellan och jag måste erkänna att jag är duktigt sugen på de andra tjejernas kurser... :D

En riktigt bra sak med kurserna (förutom de otroligt trevliga kursledarna såklart!) ;) är att det är små grupper - man hinner med att prata, fråga och prova på i lugn och ro. Att vi sen har nedrans skoj är ju bara en bonus!! ;)

Så, se till att boka kurser nu - till er själva eller kanske till en vän eller familjemedlem som vill prova på denna härliga hobby!

Project Life - n00b *)

During this autumn I've been tryning my wings on something new (for me) - Project Life. It's easy, fun and the result is great for my little girl to look through and us to talk about. She needs to develop her speech so this is a great way to practise!

I'll show you the two pages I've made so far - we'll see if I start from the beginning come 2014, or if I make an effort to gather som photos from the last months of 2013 - I don't want this project to be a "must-do". I want to keep creativity flowing! :D

It's mostly in Swedish, as you can see, but I think you get most of it even if you don't speak the language. :)

*) You know that a n00b is a beginner, right? :)

April Challenge @ Scrap-Perra

There's a monthly challenge over at Scrap-Perra's forum, and I like to participate there whenever I have the chance! In April the challenge was to be inspired by a picture:

I saw some amazing creations in the forum so I'm really inspired to continue creating right now!!! :) Too bad one has to do the laundry, pack one's bags and get ready for a fun weekend... ;) No, you don't have to feel sorry for me - I WILL be doing a lot of crafty stuff this weekend, just not at home. I will  be spending time with a dear friend!

A Great Day

We've had too many days of coughing, high temperature, snivelling, and just feeling down and under the weather. Many days home from daycare and work. It drains you of energy and leaves you wondering how you will ever cope. But you do. And then you finally have one of those great days like today:

We spent part of the day in a shopping centre and went to see The Croods - a film both mother and daughter enjoyed! Look at the little one's face - she was in heaven when she realised what we were going to do. She could have popcorn AND Coca Cola with the film and she was an angel all 1 hour and 39 minutes. That's pure joy!! ♥

Kurs på Pyssloteket!

På lördag den 20 april är det kurs på Pyssloteket med mig - Vintage/shabby chic - och det finns fortfarande platser kvar som jag såklart hoppas ska fyllas! Någon som saknar planer för lördag mellan 12 och 15 och bor i närheten av Stockholm - gå in och boka en plats!! :D Ser fram emot lördagen MASSOR!

Altered matchbox

Here we go again - yet another creation for the crop over at Mollys Scrapbooking - an altered matchbox:

I wasn't able to get the Stickles show on camera, but it's there - all over the flowers! ;) I'm not sure to whom I'll give this matchbox - we'll see. Maybe I'll keep it for myself as a reminder that I should learn to love myself! :)

Now, I'm in a flow of creativity, but I'll have to restrict myself and take care of my little Kajsa first of all. We've played a lot of games and been shopping today, among other things. Tonight she wanted to do some painting, so we could be crafty together for a little while. This is what it looked like when she joined me:

Well, Kajsa is in bed and I have no excuses not to continue my creative journey, right...? ;)

Vilken dag är det idag?

Jo, fars dag är det ju, men det är också chokladens dag enligt denna lista som jag hittade länk till hos spralliga Carin! Tack Carin, för länken, det var kul att läsa om de olika dagar som finns - bland annat var det nytt för mig att det faktiskt är julstjärnans dag på min födelsedag (12 december).

Stratford and Oxford

I love to travel, and I have been to one country many times - England. First of all because I love the country and have studied there in my past, and second of all because two VERY good friends live there. This summer I also had the opportunity to go to several places I haven't been to before - for example Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford, two historical places I've wanted to visit for a long time. Of course I have a BUNCH of photos to scrap from my trip - here are two of them:

Right now I savour the memory of this summer's trip as the weather here in Sweden grows colder and the days get shorter and shorter... This is not my favourite time of year, but I'll survive with many cups of tea, lit candles, cuddles and crafting with Kajsa!

Vi ses...? 

Fixing at home...

...just gives me more and more ideas! Things to improve, things to paint, colours I like... The new IKEA catalogue arrived yesterday and I used my lunch hour today to browse through it. Oh the ideas!!

Some of my favourites at the moment:

These would go nicely in my home - I fell in love with the painting last time I visited IKEA and I really want it on my bedroom wall, since I have nothing there at the moment. I need the cupboard for all of my nice wine glasses and cocktail glasses - right now I have them stowed away since I don't h ave anywhere to put them. The cupboard is the same style as my TV bench and coffee table, so it would fit in very well!

My crafty corner in my bedroom is getting a make over as well - so far I've painted two tables and bought a new corner table for my computer, so I'm getting there... One piece at the time!

With this I might need to get some colourful chairs - there's a lot of white, but I really like it! That way the only clutter of colours will be my creative mess! ;-)

Almost 5 years...

This blog has existed for almost 5 years now - I started it at the beginning of October 2007. Time sure flies!

At that point Kajsa was still in my tummy and I was happily married. It's strange how things change and turn out in the end. I'm happy about my little girl and I'm so grateful for my friends and family who are always there to support me.

I do not update my blog as often as I want to, but I guess it's a good thing - I'm busy living my new life, trying to make the most out of it. My crafting still has a place in my life, not just as big as it used to have, I guess... ;)

More updates with crafty creations are on their way, but right now it's Kajsa time! ♥
